FBE Coated Carbon Steel Pipe
Tianjin Youcheng Technology Co., Ltd. supplies carbon steel pipe with fusion bonded epoxy coating. Buried pipelines are one use. Submerged service and directional drilling take the same product. Base pipe grades for FBE Coated Carbon Steel Pipe are Q235B, Q355B, L245, L290, and L360. Outer diameters go from 89 mm to 2020 mm. Wall thickness goes from 4.0 mm to 20 mm. Two coating systems are available. Single-layer FBE is 300 to 500 μm thick and fits ordinary buried service. Dual-layer FBE-ARO runs 700 to 1200 μm and is built for HDD rock crossings. Production follows SY/T 0315, which equals ISO 21809-2. About 20000 tons sit in stock.

FBE is short for Fusion Bonded Epoxy. It is a thermosetting powder. The steel gets preheated to between 180 °C and 250 °C. Then an electrostatic gun sprays the powder on. At that heat the epoxy resin melts and flows. A chemical reaction cross-links it. What stays behind is a hard, continuous barrier with no pores. It bonds right to the steel surface.
Bitumen and coal tar coatings come off more easily when cathodic protection is running. FBE resists that better. Soil conditions that change a lot also affect it less. A wide pH range causes it no trouble. Standard cathodic protection systems work with it. That is why buried pipelines in international projects reach for it first. Lines carrying oil, gas and water all use it.

Single-Layer FBE (300–500 μm)
Most buried gas and water lines use this one. In ordinary soil it fights corrosion well. Cathodic protection systems also work with it, with no problems.
Dual-Layer FBE-ARO (700–1200 μm)
The abrasion-resistant overcoat (ARO) is a second, tougher layer laid over the base FBE. It was made for horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and rock-backfill crossings. On those jobs, tools can gouge the pipe while it goes in, and that risk is real.

The coating process runs in a set order. That order has a direct effect on how well the coating holds up over time.
Every batch can be traced, from the base pipe right up to the finished coating. Full documentation comes with each order.

The following tests are performed as standard on every production batch:
Mill Test Certificates follow EN 10204-3.1 format. Third-party inspection is available at extra cost upon request.

FBE Coated Carbon Steel Pipe is used wherever buried or submerged pipelines are exposed to corrosion risk. The following are typical B2B applications.
Oil & Gas Midstream Transmission
Pipelines that run cross-country meet soil with different chemical make-ups. HDD installation adds mechanical stress on top of that. One coating structure does both jobs here: the dual-layer FBE-ARO system takes care of corrosion and abrasion together.
Municipal Water & Sewage Systems
Inside water mains, the smooth epoxy surface cuts friction loss. It also stops deposits from building up on the inside. Drinking water lines can use this coating. Even so, buyers should check the local regulatory requirements that apply to their own project.
Marine & Offshore Engineering
Offshore piling and subsea intake systems often sit in chloride-rich conditions. In those places the FBE barrier gives lasting protection against pitting corrosion. High-salinity splash zones are covered as well.

Steel distribution and international export of FBE Coated Carbon Steel Pipe have kept Tianjin Youcheng Technology busy for 12 years. Shipments have gone out to Kuwait, Russia, Brazil, Belgium, Mexico, Kenya, and other markets. Around 200 tons sit in stock at the moment. That stock supports a normal production and dispatch lead time of 7–10 days. Buyers can request cut-to-length pieces. Beveled ends are an option too, and so are non-standard grades. Each order comes with paperwork: an MTC per EN 10204-3.1 and a Certificate of Compliance. For export, material is bundled with steel straps and wrapped to keep water out.

Q: What base pipe grades are available?
A: The grades on offer are Q235B, Q355B, L245, L290, and L360. If your project calls for a different grade, reach out so we can go over what is available.
Q: Can FBE coating be applied to the pipe interior?
A: Yes. Internal FBE (IFBE) is an option for applications where internal corrosion or friction reduction is a priority, such as gas and water transmission lines.
Q: How is coating damage repaired during or after transport?
A: Minor holidays or mechanical damage are repaired using two-part liquid epoxy repair kits that bond chemically with the existing FBE coating, following standard field repair procedures.
Q: Is FBE coating UV resistant?
A: FBE can break down from UV exposure when it sits in direct sunlight for a long time. Planning to store it outdoors for months? Then a UV-resistant topcoat or a whitewash cover is advised.
Q: How does single-layer FBE differ from dual-layer FBE?
A: Single-layer FBE (300–500 μm) provides standard corrosion protection for buried service. Dual-layer FBE-ARO (700–1200 μm) adds an abrasion-resistant overcoat suited to rocky terrain and HDD crossings where mechanical damage is a concern.
Q: Which documents come with an order?
A: Every order ships with a Mill Test Certificate in EN 10204-3.1 format. A Certificate of Compliance is included as well. Third-party inspection can be set up, but it costs extra.
