Product Description

LSAW Carbon Steel Pipe for Oil & Gas Transmission — Large Diameter, Full Coating Solutions

LSAW Carbon Steel Pipe comes from Tianjin Youcheng Technology. JCOE/UOE forming and double-sided submerged arc welding are how we build it. Outer diameters run from 406 mm to 1422 mm. Wall thicknesses start at 6 mm and go up to 40 mm. We have spent 12 years in steel distribution and export. About 200 tons sit in stock. Standard production lead time is 7–10 days. Oil and gas projects get pipe from us. Water transmission lines do too, and so does structural work. Buyers come from Kuwait, Russia, Brazil, Kenya, and more than 10 other international markets.

LSAW Carbon Steel Pipe

What Is This Product?

The letters LSAW stand for Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welded. Steel plate is pressed into shape with JCOE or UOE forming. After that, one straight longitudinal seam gets welded. Submerged arc welding is used on the inside and on the outside.

A straight longitudinal weld comes out of this process, and the dimensional geometry stays consistent. What you get is a large-diameter pipe. It is strong and holds pressure well. Weld toughness survives the operating conditions found in long-distance transmission pipelines.

Coating Options

Choosing a coating boils down to a handful of things. Where the pipe sits matters. So does how deep it gets buried. The fluid inside it plays a part as well. Down below, each option is grouped by the job it was built for.

On most buried oil and gas lines, you will find 3PE (Three-Layer Polyethylene). Under the ground, it keeps moisture out and protects the pipe from harm.

FBE (Fusion Bonded Epoxy) cures into a thin film and holds on tight. That makes it a good fit for buried gas transmission lines. It bonds straight to the steel, so rust stays away as the years pass.

Drinking water lines often get a coat of Epoxy White Ceramic. The ceramic lining keeps its smooth face on the inside. Water slides through with less drag. Over long distances, that means better transmission efficiency.

Bitumen 3-coat 2-cloth does well on sewage lines and on general water infrastructure. When the ground underground is wet, it holds corrosion back. Polymer coatings cost more than it does.

Every coating job we take on follows GB/T 23257 and SY/T 0315. Once we have your design specs, we can work out what coating your project needs.

Structural and Performance Characteristics

In LSAW carbon steel pipe, the weld runs straight along its length. That layout holds up better structurally than spiral-welded pipe under high pressure. The seam sits parallel to the pipe axis. Stress then spreads out more evenly when internal pressure builds.

Grade options from Gr.B to X70 cover a broad range of design pressure and temperature requirements. For projects specifying X52 to X70 steel, the double-sided submerged arc welding process is suited to meeting the weld toughness requirements in typical project codes.

Every pipe undergoes a factory inspection program before shipment:

  • Hydrostatic pressure test: verifies pressure integrity
  • Ultrasonic testing (UT): spots defects that hide inside the weld
  • X-ray inspection: tells you if the weld is sound at the fusion zone

Custom fixed-length cutting and beveled ends are available to reduce on-site preparation time.

LSAW Steel Pipe Applications

  • Oil & Gas Transmission: API 5L X60, X65 LSAW steel pipes are the preferred choice for high-pressure long-distance oil and gas trunk pipelines.
  • Water Supply & Municipal Infrastructure: Epoxy ceramic coated LSAW steel pipes are used for large-diameter potable water mains and urban water transmission networks.
  • Sewage & Drainage Systems: 3-coat 2-cloth bitumen coated LSAW steel pipes provide reliable anti-corrosion protection for buried sewage pipelines.
  • Structural Applications: Q345B LSAW steel pipes are widely adopted for pile foundations and offshore platform jackets.

Packaging and Delivery

Steel bundles are how the pipes are usually packed. Loose supply works too. End caps are fitted to stop damage in transit. Special packing can be arranged when port or site delivery needs call for it.

With approximately 200 tons of stock available, standard in-stock orders can be fulfilled with LSAW Carbon Steel Pipe without the full production lead time. For custom specifications, production lead time is approximately 7–10 days from order confirmation.

FAQ

Q: What grades are available for this product?

A: Our grades are API 5L Gr.B, X42, X52, X60, X65, X70 and Q345B. Design pressure tells you which one fits. The temperature rating matters too. Project code also has a say. High-pressure gas transmission lines usually run X52 to X70.

Q: Can we order pipes with beveled ends and custom cutting lengths?

A: Yes. We do custom fixed-length cutting, and beveled end preparation too. Just tell us the length you need inside the 6 m–12 m range. Or talk with our team about custom dimensions. Beveled ends cut down welding prep time on-site.

Q: Which coating is appropriate for a buried potable water pipeline?

A: Epoxy white ceramic coating is the standard choice for potable water pipelines. 3PE and FBE coatings are designed for oil and gas service environments and are not the typical selection for drinking water lines.

Q: What inspection and documentation are provided with each order?

A: Every shipment includes a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) covering chemical and mechanical test results. A Certificate of Compliance is also available. Pre-shipment inspection includes hydrostatic testing, ultrasonic testing, and X-ray weld inspection.

Q: What is the lead time for custom specifications?

A: Once you confirm the order, custom specs normally take about 7–10 days to make. Sizes already in stock mean a shorter wait. Send us your specs. We will give you an exact timeline.

Q: Do you handle OEM work or project-specific requirements?

A: Yes. We can do OEM and project-specific setups. You pick the outer diameter. Wall thickness and length are up to you. End preparation and coating systems can be customized too. They can meet national standards or your project codes.
