Carbon Steel Channel Bar
Hot-Rolled Carbon Steel Channel Bar U-Shaped Cross-Section Tianjin Youcheng Technology Co., Ltd. There are many varieties of steel with yield strengths from 235 to 355 MPa and tensile strengths from 400 to 550 MPa available. We have roughly 20000 tonnes in stock in sizes from 5# to 40# and normally can produce within 7 to 10 days.

It is a hot-rolled structural steel product, and has a vertical web and two horizontal ends in a U-shaped cross section.
This shape gives a good weight-to-strength ratio. Bolting it on is simple too. It serves as secondary structural support, framing and machinery bases. Bending resistance and torsional stiffness matter most in those spots.
Lots of structural jobs suit channel profiles. They weigh less than I-beams do. Putting them in place is easier as well.

Products are available across multiple international standards. The table below covers the key parameters:
| Parameter | Details |
|---|---|
| Shape | Hot-rolled U-type channel steel |
| Material Grades | Q235B, Q355B, S235JR, S355JR, A36 |
| Size Range | 5# – 40# channel |
| Yield Strength | 235 – 355 MPa |
| Tensile Strength | 400 – 550 MPa |
| Carbon Content | 0.15% – 0.29% |
| Surface Options | Black original, hot-dip galvanized, painted |
| Standards | GB/T 707, ASTM A36, EN 10025 |
| Processing | Fixed-length cutting, drilling, punching, bending |
| Certificate | Mill Test Certificate (MTC) |
| Package | Steel strapped bundle, export seaworthy packing |
Every grade keeps the carbon equivalent under control. That helps when you weld with MIG, TIG or Stick methods. Most conditions do not call for complex pre-heat procedures.
Industrial Infrastructure
Builders use Carbon Steel Channel Bar for factories and bridges. It works as purlins and sub-girts. In steel frame buildings, it carries lateral loads.
Heavy Machinery and Transport
Truck trailer frames and heavy equipment chassis both use channel steel. It can handle constant vibration. High stress cycles over long service durations are also something it can take.
Energy and the Sea
Hot-dip galvanised channel is used for offshore platforms and solar mounting structures for the support of piping systems and electrical cable management in corrosive environments .
Construction and Building
Channel bars are a common structural element used in building frames, support beams and machinery bases. The open shape of channel bars enables for easy couplings by bolting or welding.

Every batch goes through five inspection stages before it ships:
All orders come with a mill test certificate (MTC) that follows EN 10204 3.1. It tracks the heat number, chemical and mechanical results right back to the original melt.

Direct processing services are available including fixed length cutting, drilling, punching and bending. Surface treatment options comprise of black mill finish, hot-dip galvanising and painted coatings as per the diverse environmental conditions of the project.
OEM and ODM service is available. It helps us meet market requirements for Carbon Steel Channel Bar and project demands that vary by country. Stock: 200 tonnes. Production lead time: 7-10 days. Export packaging: steel strapped bundles with seaworthy protection for long distance goods.

Q: How do C-channel and U-channel differ?
A: Most structural framing work is handled by C-channels, and their flanges taper. Precision mechanical jobs are a different story. There the flange contact has to stay even, so parallel flanged U-channels get picked instead.
Q: How difficult is it to weld the channel bar in the field?
A: Yes. Grades such as Q235B, S235JR and A36 have a regulated carbon equivalent. In most situations that lets you weld with ordinary MIG or TIG, and Stick works as well. Complex pre-heating is not needed.
Q: How should I secure a channel bar outdoors or near the coast?
A: Hot dip galvanising is suggested. It forms a zinc-iron alloy coating which provides corrosion protection in high salinity and weather exposed circumstances.
Q: Q4. What cutting tolerances can you reach?
A: Standard commercial cutting tolerance is ±50mm for 6m and 12m length. Precision cutting may produce fabrications to tighter tolerances of plus or minus 2 mm.
Q: What documents will come with the order?
A: The mill test certificate (MTC) according to EN 10204 3.1 is supplied with heat number, chemical analysis and mechanical test data traceable back to the initial melt.
Q: Q6. What size do you have? Can you make it size customised?
A: Channel sizes from 5# to 40#. Discuss custom measurements and processes such as length, holes and surface treatment as per your project needs. For information, call us with your specifications.
