Product Description

Welded Carbon Steel H Beam for Heavy-Load Steel Structures — Custom Fabrication & Direct Factory Supply

Two flange plates and one web plate get cut first. Submerged-arc welding then joins them into a Welded Carbon Steel H Beam. Tianjin Youcheng Technology Co., Ltd. keeps about 20000 tonnes in stock. Its normal production lead time is 7–10 days. Beam heights go from 300 mm to 1500 mm. Flange widths sit between 200 mm and 600 mm. Q235B and Q355B are the grades on offer. Large-span workshops, heavy-duty factory frames, and bridge structures that don't fit standard hot-rolled sizes are all good fits.

What Is a Welded H Beam?

Submerged-arc welds hold the three steel plates of a welded H beam together. Two of them are flange plates, and one is a web plate. A hot-rolled H beam is different. It takes shape in one pass through a rolling mill.

Plates get cut and put together one at a time, so cross-section sizes can change fully. Nothing is locked to a fixed catalogue. Give them the exact height your job needs. Flange width and plate thickness can be set the same way. That's why welded H beams are the best option when a project calls for depths or thicknesses rolling mills can't make.

Manufacturing Process

To keep the structure consistent, each beam goes through a set of steps during production.

Plate Cutting: Q235B or Q355B steel plates get cut to the size the job calls for. Thickness runs from 8 mm up to 50 mm. That covers light loads and heavy ones.

Assembly and Welding: A jig fixture holds the plates so they line up the right way. Submerged-arc welding then joins them. Against manual methods, SAW drives weld penetration deeper and keeps it even, and it leaves less heat distortion behind.

After being welded, each beam is mechanically straightened to make sure that the camber and sweep are within the acceptable range. If the measurements are right at this stage, they will fit better when the assembly is done on-site.

Nondestructive Testing: Ultrasonic testing (UT) is used on welded seams to check the quality on the inside, looking for holes, cracks, or incomplete fusion that can't be seen with the naked eye.

Key Advantages Over Hot-Rolled H Beam

What hot-rolled H beams can make is limited by what rolling mills can make. Hot-rolled sections can't be used if your project needs a beam height that is higher than the normal range or a flange thickness that is higher than what the mill can handle.

Welded H beams do away with that limit. Give the fabrication team a cross-section and they cut and weld to match it. Plate records stay complete, so the exact source of the material behind each beam can be traced.

Application Scenarios

Welded Carbon Steel H Beam is used in structural uses where the load needs to be higher than what standard sections can handle.

Workshops and factories with long spans made of steel: beams need to be higher than 600 mm for portal frame buildings with spans over 30 m. Engineers can match the beam depth to the bending moment diagram with custom-welded sections, which cuts down on material waste.

When building a bridge, the main girders have to deal with stress from both bending and twisting. Welded H beams with asymmetric flange configurations are better at handling these loads than rolled sections that are all the same size.

Heavy Equipment Support Structures: Crane runways and heavy press supports need to be able to hold a lot of weight and be very precise in their measurements. A flange width of up to 50 mm gives you the bearing area you need for heavy loads.

Surface Treatment Options for Welded Carbon Steel H Beam

A black welded finish is what is delivered as standard. As a factory service, anti-rust primer painting can be done on projects that need to protect against corrosion before they are installed.

For outdoor work, shot blasting to Sa 2.5 works best, followed by a multi-coat paint system. Tell the team what coating you need when you place your order. They will check the current production schedule and let you know what can be done.

Quality Control & Documentation

Verification of dimensions, visual inspection of welds, and ultrasonic NDT on weld seams are all part of quality checks. Based on records from factory inspections, a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) with the layout of EN 10204-3.1 is sent with every order. This certificate is just a report from the factory; it hasn't been checked by a third party or an EU Notified Body.

If your project needs an inspection by a third party other than us, like Lloyd's, BV, or SGS, we can set that up for an extra fee. Please ask for this Welded Carbon Steel H Beam before the production starts.

FAQ

Q: What is a welded H beam?

A: Two flange plates and one web plate are put together, and then they are joined by welding. This makes a welded H beam. Standard hot-rolled sizes aren't big enough for large-span workshops, heavy-load frames, and bridge steel structures.

Q: How are welded H beams and hot-rolled H beams different?

A: The size of a hot-rolled H beam is limited by the capacity of the rolling mill. Larger heights and flange thicknesses can be made for welded H beams, which makes them good for heavy-load or non-standard jobs.

Q: Weld seams are checked, right?

A: Yes. Every weld seam goes through ultrasonic nondestructive testing. Projects that need independent confirmation can add a third-party review for an extra charge.

Q: What kinds of steel are out there?

A: Q235B and Q355B are the standard grades used for building and bridge steel. Between them they cover mild steel and high-strength steel.

Q: Are you able to make beams based on a project drawing?

A: Yes. We handle both OEM and ODM work. Send our team your project plan or cross-section details. They will tell you if we can make it, and what the cost would be.

Q: What kinds of papers are with the order?

A: Each order includes a factory Mill Test Certificate (MTC). It follows the EN 10204-3.1 format. Third-party certification can be arranged separately if you need it.
