Product Description

Large Diameter Stainless Steel Tubing for Industrial Pipeline Systems — Heavy Wall, Custom OD Solutions

Tianjin Youcheng Technology Co., Ltd. holds stock of large diameter stainless steel tubing. Outside sizes run from 219 mm up to 1220 mm. Wall thickness spans 3 mm to 60 mm. Grades on hand include 304 and 316L. You can also get 2205 and 321 from us. Our team has spent 12 years in steel distribution. Roughly 2000 tons sit in the warehouse. Standard production lead time is 7 to 10 days. Petrochemical and water treatment projects are what we serve. Marine jobs and heavy-duty industrial work worldwide get covered as well. Products meet ASTM A312 and ASTM A249. GB/T 14976 applies too. Mill Test Certificates (MTC) per EN 10204 3.1 come with every shipment.

What Is This Product?

This product covers round tubes with an outside diameter that normally sits above 150 mm. In industrial settings the reach can go to 1220 mm. These tubes are not standard pipe sizes. Wall thickness tolerances stay tight. Surface finishes get set to satisfy engineering needs. They carry corrosive media in big volumes. High internal pressure will not deform them. Complex pipeline systems end up with fewer connection points because of them.

Material Grades and Technical Parameters

The grade you pick comes down to where the tube will be used. Here is what we can supply:

  • 304: The general-purpose austenitic grade. Corrosion resistance is good. Water plants and food processing lines use it a lot.
  • 316L: The carbon level in this grade is low, and molybdenum goes into the mix. Seawater does not bother it, and the same holds for chemical service. High-chloride work is where most buyers reach for it.
  • 2205 Duplex: Strength runs high, and the PREN sits above 30. When conditions turn aggressive, pitting and stress corrosion cracking get held back.
  • 321: Titanium goes into this grade, and that is what keeps it stable. Hot service is fine, and so is work where temperatures rise and drop.

Chromium and nickel go into every grade. A few of them also carry molybdenum or titanium. That blend is what gives the localized corrosion resistance the operating conditions above call for. Inside, the bore stays smooth. Because of that, flow stays steady in big fluid systems.

Surface Finish Options

Surface finish changes how the part performs. It also changes what installation takes. Four options are out there:

  • No.1 Finish: For this one the surface gets hot rolled, then annealed, then pickled. Industrial pipelines and structural work usually go with it.
  • 2B Finish: Cold rolling leaves a surface that is smooth and reflects light. This finish works well for general fabrication and processing jobs.
  • Pickled Finish: The oxide scale is removed. So is any contamination on the surface. Welding or heat treatment also leaves the steel with better corrosion performance after this step.
  • Polished Finish: It looks bright and clean. Jobs in pharmaceutical, food-grade, or marine settings often call for it.

Application Industries

These tubes are used in B2B environments where dimensional accuracy and material integrity are both required.

Oil & Gas / Petrochemical: Mainline transmission lines and heat exchange systems use these tubes. Chemical media and high-pressure steam are what they face there. For that job, 316L and 2205 show up often.

Municipal Water Treatment & Desalination: Large amounts of seawater or treated water move through big diameter stainless steel tubing. That tubing is made from Large Diameter Stainless Steel Tubing such as 316L or 2205 Duplex. Where salinity runs high, it holds off pitting and crevice corrosion.

Power Generation: Cooling water circuits and exhaust gas recirculation systems in thermal plants depend on these tubes. Thermal cycling repeats again and again. Through all of it, the tubes must keep their dimensions steady.

Marine & Offshore Projects: Offshore structures and pipelines almost always call for two grades: 2205 and 316L. Why those two? Chlorides cause stress corrosion, and that is the biggest worry in this kind of service.

Quality Control Process

Nothing leaves the plant before it passes an inspection sequence, and every step of it gets written down.

  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Radiographic Testing (RT), or X-ray, reveals how deep a weld has penetrated. After that, Ultrasonic Testing (UT) finds defects sitting below the surface.
  • Hydrostatic Testing: Leaks are checked at 1.5× the design pressure rating.
  • Positive Material Identification (PMI): The alloy's makeup gets compared to the grade listed on the spec.
  • Intergranular Corrosion Testing: We run this to ASTM A262 whenever the job requires it.
  • Dimensional Inspection: Ovality and straightness get measured on every run. Surface roughness (Ra) is checked the same way.

Packaging and Logistics for Large Diameter Stainless Steel Tubing

How a tube gets packed comes down to its size and where it is headed. Woven bags work for some orders. Others go out in wooden cases, or on heavy-duty wooden pallets. Every tube gets end caps and a wrap. That layer keeps it away from carbon steel surfaces. It also blocks contamination.

We work with freight forwarding partners and have shipped to Kuwait, Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Belgium, Brazil, Mexico, Kenya, and other markets. With approximately 200 tons in stock, standard orders can be fulfilled within the stated lead time.

Customization and OEM Support

OD and wall thickness can change. Length can change. End type can change. Surface finish can change. Material grade can change as well. All of these follow your project drawings or technical needs. We offer OEM and ODM services. They cover different national standards and project conditions. Custom beveled ends are supported. Threaded ends are supported too. Non-standard cutting lengths can also be done.

Give us a pressure rating you need. Same goes for a design code or a size requirement. Send over your Large Diameter Stainless Steel Tubing drawings or specs. We will check if it can be made and tell you the lead time.

FAQ

Q: How does welded this product differ from the seamless kind?

A: Seamless tubes tend to stay small in outer diameter. That ceiling comes from the way they are produced. Welded tubes, made with EFW or PAW, can reach the bigger OD range shown in our specs. A controlled heat treatment on the weld seam keeps them sound. Welded construction is the practical pick for most large-diameter industrial projects, and it costs less.

Q: How do you stop carbide precipitation when welding large diameter tubes?

A: We supply low-carbon grades such as 316L. They are made to cut down on carbide precipitation in the heat-affected zone. We also control heat input during welding. This helps protect corrosion resistance at the weld area.

Q: Can wall thickness be adjusted to meet certain pressure needs?

A: Yes. Wall thickness runs anywhere from 3 mm to 60 mm. Your pressure rating is one thing that decides it. The design code counts as well, and so does the weight you need.

Q: Which certificates come along with every shipment?

A: Every batch ships with a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) under EN 10204 3.1. Chemical analysis and mechanical test results both show up on the MTC. NDT reports form part of it too.

Q: Can you cut tubes to the lengths we mark on project drawings?

A: Yes. Straight cut ends, deburred edges, and custom beveled ends are all available. Random lengths and fixed 6 m lengths are standard; other cutting dimensions can be arranged based on your drawings or specifications.
