Hot Rolled Stainless Steel Plate
Hot Rolled Stainless Steel Plate starts as stainless steel slabs rolled at temperatures above 1100°C. Out comes a plate with a No.1 pickled finish. Thickness runs from 3 mm to 120 mm. Tianjin Youcheng Technology Co., Ltd. keeps roughly 2000 tons in stock. Grades include 201, 304, 304L, 316, 316L, and 321. Production normally takes 7–10 days. Pressure vessels are a common use. Chemical tanks use them too. Boiler equipment and heavy structural fabrication are other regular applications. Custom cutting is offered. OEM/ODM work can be arranged as well. Plates have shipped to Kuwait, Russia, Greece, Belgium, Brazil, Mexico, Kenya and other markets.

During hot rolling, slabs get heated past their recrystallization point. That usually means above 1100°C. From there they pass through rolling mills until the target thickness is reached. Annealing comes next. Pickling then strips away the scale. What is left is the dull grey No.1 surface finish these plates are known for.
Annealing lowers internal stress. Less stress means better dimensional stability when parts are machined heavily or welded. Thick-section structural components are one place where this matters. Close dimensional tolerances have to hold all the way through fabrication, and that is when the annealed state counts most.

For Grade 304, yield strength is usually ≥205 MPa. Elongation reaches ≥40%. Parts that carry pressure need both figures. There, the metal has to take mechanical deformation and hold together.
In the 300-series austenitic grades, chromium and nickel sit at high levels. That is what keeps corrosion away in chemical processing, and in damp service conditions as well. Hot rolling comes first. Then the steel is annealed. Once annealed, every grade on offer welds the same way.
Heavy welding on thick sections calls for the low-carbon L grades, 304L and 316L. Less carbon in the steel holds sensitization back. Sensitization is a type of grain boundary corrosion. Welding thermal cycles can let it form at the heat-affected zone.
Which grade fits best comes down to where it will be used and how it gets made:
Pressure vessels and chemical tanks: Thickness can reach 120 mm. The mechanical properties stay steady once pickling is done. Both of those traits hold high pressure in and keep process chemicals from eating the metal.
Boiler and heat exchanger equipment: Titanium stabilization is what Grade 321 brings to the table. It keeps working through Hot Rolled Stainless Steel Plate in long stretches of high heat. At the operating temperature, sensitization risk does not appear.
Heavy structural fabrication: Load-bearing parts are one good fit. Structural frames work too. Industrial plant structures also hold up, since the hot-rolled annealed condition gives high fracture toughness and ductility.
Marine and offshore structures: Chloride-induced stress corrosion does not beat Grade 316/316L. That makes it a workable pick for shipbuilding platforms and coastal industrial facilities.
Every batch we make gets checked in a set way before it ships:
Each batch comes with MTC paperwork that follows EN 10204-3.1.

Standard plates can be further processed to meet project-specific dimensions:
OEM and ODM work is offered as well. It covers sizes made for a single project or the standards a certain national market asks for.

Plates ship in anti-scratch plywood packaging, which keeps the surface safe while goods move by sea or over land. For export shipments, Tianjin Youcheng Technology Co., Ltd. makes the arrangements together with freight forwarding partners.
We hold about 200 tons in stock, and production of Hot Rolled Stainless Steel Plate takes 7–10 days. So standard orders and custom ones both move out fast, with no long waits.

Q: What is the main thing that sets this product apart from cold rolled plate?
A: This product is worked at temperatures higher than the recrystallization point. That is where the No.1 pickled finish and the heavier gauges come from. Cold rolled plate is processed at room temperature instead. You get a smoother surface, and dimensional tolerances hold tighter.
Q: Why do hot rolled plates normally come with a No.1 finish?
A: Annealing comes first, then descaling. Those two steps take the oxide layer off the plate surface. What is left is still easy to work with, and it costs little enough for structural jobs. In those jobs, nobody cares how the surface looks.
Q: How does welding affect these plates?
A: Weld results hold steady when the plate has been annealed. For thick sections, pick low-carbon grades (304L, 316L). In the heat-affected zone, those grades keep sensitization down.
Q: Can hot rolled plates still be polished after I buy them?
A: Yes. The No.1 finish leaves surface scale on the plate. So polishing it takes more grinding and buffing stages than cold-rolled material would. Surface grinding can be done before the order ships.
Q: Which papers come with every order?
A: Each batch ships with a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) under EN 10204-3.1. Factory internal inspection is what backs those papers. NDT is standard. You can also ask for third-party inspection, at an extra cost.
